10 Home Invasion Horror Movies That Broke All The Rules

1. The Collector - A Home Invasion Inside A Home Invasion

Going from one type of meta to another, we now have home invasion squared: whereby in this film a man goes to break into a home, just to realise someone else has already beat him to it.

One night former convict turned handyman Arkin plans to break into his employers’ home to steal a valuable gemstone. On arriving at the house and making it to the safe, however, he finds that someone else is already in the house and is terrorising the family.

The house is boarded up and rigged with traps to prevent escape, as a killer referred to as The Collector wreaks havoc. His M.O. is to kill all but one person in each household, the remaining survivor being his souvenir that he keeps locked in a trunk.

Where usually we have to decide whether the intruder or the homeowners are the bad guys, in this film a last-minute third party entry clearly takes the cake!
