10 Horror Film Remakes To Avoid

5. The Fog (2005)

With jump scares, shoddy CGI, lifeless characters and performances (RIP Tom Welling's career), The Fog didn't exactly light up the box office or garner much critical acclaim on its release. Those involved with the remake must have known this as they were filming, because half the cast look to have given up half the time and some of the SFX doesn't even look finished. How John Carpenter kept his name attached to this pale imitation is a mystery, as you'd think he'd be better than endorsing cookie cutter cash-grab Hollywood BS. Apparently not, as similar remakes of Carpenter classics will attest (if you were thinking about watching the Ethan Hawke Assault on Precinct 13... don't bother).
