Personally speaking, Halloween is this writer's favourite horror franchise. Still, after 13 movies, do we really need to be paying any more visits to Haddonfield? Regardless, that's exactly what we're going to get, although it's at least a little something different this time out.

That different? Why, that'd be a Halloween TV series.

It was announced in October 2023 that Miramax had picked up the TV rights for Halloween, and work is currently underway on a show that, as per executive producer Marc Helwig, will focus on certain supporting characters who haven't been "explored" in the more recent Halloween movies.

The belief is that this series will follow the continuity solely of the events of John Carpenter's original Halloween, although it's unclear whether the show will be set in the immediate time after that 1978 classic, or whether audiences will get a more modern setting.

Elsewhere, Boss Team Games is at work on an intriguing Halloween video game that will utilise Unreal Engine 5 and has involvement from the legendary Carpenter. The early word on this game reads, "relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time".

So, 2025 should be a fascinating year for the Halloween IP, with many long-time fans have huge interest in how these vastly different projects play out.
