4. The Johnson Family - Haunter
Haunter stars Abigail Breslin as Lisa Johnson, a teenage girl who quickly realises that she's dead and is forced to repeatedly relive the day that she and her family were murdered in 1985.
Unlike Lisa, though, her parents (Peter Outerbridge and Michelle Nolden) and brother (Peter DaCunha) don't know they're dead or consequently that they were the victims of a horrible murder.
Only later in the film does Lisa finally break the news to them, and upon accepting their fate, they're able to help her bring down Edgar Mullins (Edgar Mullins), the supernatural serial killer possessing the home's various residents.
Ultimately Lisa has her family move on to the afterlife while she stays behind to finish Edgar, but after doing so she joins them in heaven, having escaped the loop which Mullins trapped them all in.
Haunter may not be a great film or nearly as well known as every other movie on this list, but it is an intriguing little horror that offers a neat, unique spin on a superficially familiar concept.
