3. The Actors Had To Hang Upside Down In An Interview With A Vampire To Look Authentic

Commitment to the craft comes in many forms. Actors playing werewolves have long and gruelling special effects sequences that can take hours upon hours to get right, actors playing demons have to learn how to painfully contort their bodies to look as creepy as possible, and actors playing vampires have to really get into the zone by hanging upside down for a good 30 minutes so all their veins can come out for that Freshly Dead look. Well, that last one is a little more specific.

Make up artists on An Interview With A Vampire wanted to capture the thin, translucent veins that the book characters were described as having, so in order to get the best placement for them they routinely hung the actors up so all the blood would rush to their heads to pop those bad boys out. They would then trace over the visible blood vessels, thankfully, so they didn't need to keep swinging Brad Pitt around throughout the rest of the filming for the day.

It's a small thing, but knowing all the veins in the movie are anatomically correct is a nice little touch.
