10 Horror Movie Franchises Which Got Terribly Adapted TWICE

6. Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City
Warner Bros.

Adapted from the Jack Finney's novel, 1956's Invasion of the Body Snatchers revolves around a group of aliens who've assimilated into human society, hoping to conquer the world. Many viewers gravitated towards the sci-fi flick's themes of conformity, individualism, and McCarthyism, since Communism was a serious problem at the time.

Invasion of the Body Snatcher's popularity inspired a 1978 remake, which is arguably better than the original. Sadly, the same cannot be said about the other two versions.

Though 1993's Body Snatchers is competent at best, it doesn't do or say anything the previous instalments haven't already covered. And then there's the third remake, The Invasion, which is such a forgettable bore, most movie advocates didn't even notice it when it came out. In fact, some people are likely only finding out about it right now. Also, the irony of watching Daniel Craig's character struggling to stay awake shouldn't be lost on the semi-conscious audience.

Now, it's easy to understand why studios are compelled to redo this classic story since it has a permanent relevancy in society. However, anyone who's watched the earlier instalments have no reason to endure the later ones.
