10 Horror Movie Franchises With Only One Great Movie

9. From Dusk Till Dawn

Final Destination
Miramax

Sin City. Alita: Battle Angel. Spy Kids. Machete. The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl. This is just a small sample of the pick 'n' mix that is director Robert Rodriguez's filmography.

Missing from that list is From Dusk Till Dawn, a horror-cum-thriller written by Quentin Tarantino. The foot lover also has a featured role in the movie as the brother of George Clooney's character. Yeah right...

The action begins when the unlikely siblings take a family hostage, but accidentally end up wandering into a bar frequented by vampires. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

The film still has a strong following to this day and its popularity inspired a follow-up subtitled Texas Blood Money.

Alarm bells went off as soon as it was revealed that barely any of the original cast were reappearing and that Tarantino and Rodriguez had been relegated to executive producers.

Texas Blood Money was savaged by critics upon its release, but that didn't stop another film, The Hangman's Daughter, being released the very next year. That had yet another different cast and was once again ripped to pieces.

There's a pattern here somewhere.
