10 Horror Movie Idiots Who Made Simple Solutions Look IMPOSSIBLE

1. Ghosting Josef - Creep (2014)

Creep revolves around a videographer, Aaron (writer-director Patrick Brice), who takes a job helping Josef (Mark Duplass), an apparently terminally ill man, record a video diary for his unborn son he won't live to meet.

Josef's behaviour goes from eccentric to increasingly creepy throughout the film, until the pair eventually get into a fight that ends with Aaron barely escaping.

Back at his home, Aaron receives a video of Josef digging a grave, and when Josef sends him an invite for one final meeting in a public park to bury the hatchet, Aaron inexplicably decides to go along.

To the surprise of no-one but Aaron, Josef sneaks up on him and buries an axe in his skull, no matter that Aaron left a camera recording the incident for his own "protection."

Ultimately even Josef points out how bizarre it is that Aaron trusted him following his alarming behaviour, pointing to his infuriating naivete and desire to see the best in people.

In 2023, where we're all fed on a steady diet of documentaries about serial killers prowling the web, it seems absolutely ridiculous that anyone wouldn't immediately ghost Josef after he started acting weird, and once the death threats start, maybe consider staying with a friend out of town for a little while?

Instead, Aaron basically marched to his fate, sat with his back to Josef, and didn't even bother arming himself for the meeting. Stupid.
