10 Horror Movie Mistakes Left In To Troll You

9. Patrick's Flawed Business Card - American Psycho

American Psycho Business Card

American Psycho is a film centered around the unreliability of yuppie protagonist Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale), who may or may not moonlight as a murderous psychopath.

As part of the film's thickly-laid satire of '80s corporate culture, business cards are effectively used as a stand-in for male genitalia, Patrick and his co-workers attempting to one-up each other with more stylish, even "tastefully thick" cards (as Patrick puts it).

Observant viewers might notice that Patrick's own business card actually contains a few silly mistakes.

For starters, the company name, Pierce & Pierce, doesn't feature a space between the ampersand and the second "Pierce," and beneath it the word "acquisitions" is spelled incorrectly without the letter "c."

Now to be fair, it's not exactly clear if this is a true mistake or not, because director Mary Harron has never confirmed either way, but in many respects that's the beauty of it.

The mistakes on the card, whether truly a gaffe or not, underline the film's themes of uncertainty and paranoia perfectly, and fans are still debating it today.
