10 Horror Movie Mistakes You Can Never Un-see

3. Silent Hill

Okay, there aren’t many movies that get a free pass when it comes to onscreen mistakes, and 2006’s horror video game adaptation Silent Hill…

Well, some would argue that the entire film is a mistake.

But for anyone who is willing to give Christophe Gans’ imperfect film a pass thanks to its impressive visuals and production design, this mistake is cooler than most.

Early on the film, our heroine Radha Mitchell arrives at the titular fog-filled town via a sudden car crash. The crash results in a sizeable bruise above her eyebrow…

Which promptly vanishes for a few seconds shortly after she emerges from the car crash…

And then reappears a few seconds later (this time it stays).

This odd screw up is clearly a continuity error on the part of hair and make-up. But, it serves to incidentally imply (however unintentionally) that her character is moving between two different realities during this scene, a twist which be revealed later in the movie.

Clever!

If only they had actually done it on purpose.

Cathal Gunning hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
