6. 3 From Hell

When it was announced that Rob Zombie was returning to his Firefly well for a third time with 2019's 3 from Hell, that was somewhat of a shock after Baby, Otis and Captain Spaulding were spectacularly shot to death at the Freebird-thumping close of The Devil's Rejects.

Going into 3 from Hell, it remained to be seen how that trio could still be alive. Ultimately, Baby, Otis and Spaulding had simply miraculously survived Rejects' shootout finale. Still, all three were sentenced to life in prison, and thus 3 from Hell then turns to how the Firefly three will escape and what their next roaring rampage will consist of.

Before we can start thinking too much about the logistics of such a breakout, mind, 3 from Hell shockingly kills off Captain Spaulding via lethal injection.

Considering all of the pre-release talk of 3 from Hell was about Baby, Otis and Spaulding embarking on a mission to amass yet another pile of bodies, it was hugely surprising to realise that Sid Haig's twisted clown wouldn't be a part of this slaughter.

In reality, plans for Captain Spaulding to have a major role in 3 from Hell had to be scrapped due to the poor health of Haig. Sadly, the actor would pass away just days after the film was released.
