10 Horror Movie Puzzles You Would Never Survive
7. Stay Awake To Escape The Nightmare - Haze
Unlike most others on this list, Haze takes a more relaxed approach to plot to focus on delivering more of an atmosphere. The unnerving, unpredictable tone that carries us through the film perfectly demonstrates why most of us wouldn’t make it through the nightmarish maze our protagonist finds himself trapped in: we’d most likely go crazy first.
Say you wake up in the middle of seemingly nowhere with no clue how you got there and nobody else around, you’re probably gonna start panicking already. Next you notice you’ve got a big old wound in your stomach and absolutely no idea how to perform first aid on yourself (do you pack it with some shirt fabric? Can you put a tourniquet on your waist??) and just to top all that off, every time you sleep or fall unconscious, you wake up in an even worse landscape. You’re buggered.
The film gives little away about the nature of the maze in terms of what it is, who created it and why our protagonist is there - and that only serves to demonstrate that you would be even more screwed because you don’t know what you’re dealing with. On vibes alone, I’m calling that this is not a situation many would survive.
