10 Horror Movie Sets That Were (Allegedly) Haunted
7. The Conjuring (2013)
The Conjuring, directed by James Wan and released in 2013, is a creepy and unsettling film, most horror fans would agree. Based on the case of real-life paranormal investigators (as with other titles in this article) Ed and Lorraine Warren, the story has become infamous and has sparked lots of debate about demonic hauntings.
The Conjuring (which has since spawned multiple releases in the franchise) stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who play Ed and Lorraine Warren. Hugely popular, it has enough creepy scenes and tight tension to keep horror fans going, yet apparently the horror didn't stop when the scenes were finished.
Many odd things apparently happened during the production of this modern-day favourite. At times, a cold, strong wind was said to appear on set. Certain cast members reported feeling an evil presence in their homes during the time they worked on the film. The hotel that the actors and staff were using was seriously damaged in a fire. Director James Wan said his dog would inexplicably start growling and became nervous, during the time of his involvement with the production. Whatever the reality and cause of these events, it makes watching The Conjuring an unnerving experience.
