10 Horror Movie Villains With The Highest Body Counts

2. The Invisible Man - 122 Kills

Kill Count: 122

The Invisible Man takes the visible biscuit when it comes to the single highest body count across one movie alone. Going on a rampage, he commits a string of crimes when he’s sent insane by the drugs used in the experiment that turned him see through; intent on world domination, as was all the rage back in 1933.

Whilst The Invisible Man does technically have a five film franchise, or six if you count the League of Gentlemen reference - it’s only the first movie that has the first, original villain, which is Dr Griffin, out there f*cking people’s sh*t up. His later appearances are in fact adapted characters with different names, altered due to copyright.

He manages a good amount of cling-film coloured Tomfoolery before making the fatal error of leaving footprints in the snow as he tries to escape into the distance: earning himself a shot in the back that renders him visible and sane once more, then becomes very sorry for killing a bunch of people for fun.

The Invisible Man is one of the original horror movie villains, and perhaps doesn't quite stand up as well as his competition for modern audiences considering his body count comes mostly from campily pushing people off cliffs - but his place in the genre is important. To still come in second compared to the slasher behemoths of the 80s is no small feat.
