10 Horror Movies Actors Want Us To Forget

1. Leonardo DiCaprio: Critters 3 (1991)

Katherine Heigl Valentine
New Line Cinema

Of course, what else could be at the top of this list except Leonardo DiCaprio's encounter with the man-eating hairballs of the Critters franchise?

Critters 3 - which went direct-to-video in 1991 to make New Line Cinema some quick cash - sees the deceptively cute Krites terrorizing an inner-city apartment block. Young Leo fits in as the stepson of the building's sinister landlord and bands together with the residents to survive.

Unlike so many others on this list, DiCaprio has spoken about appearing in Critters 3, saying it is "possibly one of the worst films of all time," and is "a good example professionally to look back on and make sure it doesn't happen again."

Is Critters 3 really as bad as its Oscar-winning star totes it to be? It's as good as you'd expect a film about man-eating alien hairballs to be. Everyone involved does their best, DiCaprio included. The film is well made with impressive puppetry on a tight budget, and is not nearly as poorly received as some of the other entries on this list.

Perhaps Leo is still a little sore at the at the reaction to his performance at the time, with one reviewer calling his work "your average, no-depth, standard kid with blond hair." Whatever the case, it doesn't appear that DiCaprio will be mentioning the Krites again any time soon. But whether Leo likes the movie or not, how far he has come in the years since just serves to remind us that everyone has to start somewhere.
