10 Horror Movies Even More Disturbing Than You Thought

9. Oskar Has A Grim Future Ahead - Let The Right One In

The Purge

Let the Right One In is a plenty terrifying movie in its own right, though its elliptical final scene ultimately only teases a grim future for young protagonist Oskar (Kåre Hedebrant).

After vampire Eli (Lina Leandersson) rescues Oskar from a group of bullies, the pair flee together on a train with Eli concealed inside a box, before Eli and Oskar tap the word "kiss" to one another. D'aww, ain't that cute?

Not quite.

It's reasonable to assume that Oskar is now in the position of being Eli's "caretaker" from this point forward - sourcing her "meals" and effectively acting in the capacity as Eli's prior guardian, Håkan (Per Ragnar), who in remake Let Me In is himself implied to have been Eli's former childhood friend.

Basically, there's a very strong chance that Oskar's future isn't a million miles away from Håkan's - in love with an ageless vampire while himself ageing into an old man, before being replaced with another young boy when he can't provide for Eli anymore.

Obviously the particulars are left up in the air, but that ending isn't quite as sweet as some might generously interpret it to be.
