If you watch Pieces with expectations of a real horror movie that is, a coherent film that tries to scare you youll be disappointed because this is one of the funniest films youll ever see. The combination of bad dubbing, outrageous plotting, and bug-eyed acting never fails to bring down the house. Thankfully, the gore factor is off the charts. In the opening scene, a young boy kills his mother with an axe and the insanity spirals from there as a chainsaw-wielding maniac runs amok on a New England campus. Arms are lopped off, victims are decapitated and, in one memorable sequence, a body is cut in half. In a film with no shortage of unintentional laughs, special mention must be made of the sequence where a co-ed gets into a lift with a black-garbed, heavy breathing psychopath, who she doesnt realize is carrying a chainsaw until he revs it up.
