10 Horror Movies Set On One Day Only

This 1997 classic follows a group of strangers who find themselves trapped in a maze-like structure of cubes. Not only is there no directions to the exit or anyone around to explain the situation to them, but it turns out that many of the cubes are booby-trapped to kill them in gruesome ways. Sounds fun!

Each of the trapped people has a different sort of expertise, and they believe that they must have been selected to traverse the maze for a specific reason. Calculating what they think to be the correct dimensions of their cube-shaped prison, the group try to reach the edge and thus their sweet freedom. However, nothing can really ever be that simple.

Over a period of hours (although without windows we can never be sure exactly how long) we watch as the group encounter trouble from both their dangerous environment and their own interpersonal problems. It’s a satisfying puzzle piece with another concise run time of only 90 minutes, and given that it has gone on to inspire many a more recent film, its legacy speaks for itself.
