10 Horror Movies Shot From The Killer’s Perspective

1. The Voices

Maniac Elijah Wood

Firstly, if you haven't yet seen The Voices, you should change that.

Secondly, this cult comedy-horror from 2014 stars Ryan Reynolds as Jerry Hickfang, a schizophrenic man who goes off his meds and becomes a serial killer, all while hallucinating that his pet dog and cat (both also voiced by Reynolds) can talk to him.

We see the film's events unfold from the multitudes of Jerry's perspective, his grasp on reality slipping the longer he goes without meds, but when he does later agree to take them, we see his life for what it actually is - his pets no longer speak to him, and his apartment is a damn mess.

Beyond its darkly hilarious execution, this also offers up a too-rare demonstration of Reynolds' acting chops, with him bringing dimension to a man who, while clearly not meaning harm, is evidently unable to function in an uncaring society.

In 2020, Reynolds declared The Voices to be one of his favourite movies he's worked on, no matter that it's been largely ignored by the masses.
