10 Horror Movies That Aren’t As Bad As Everyone Says

1. Scream 4

Dimension Films

Released in 2011, Scream 4 was a belated sequel intended to revive the long-dead Scream franchise.

The film marked the return of original screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who collaborated with Nightmare on Elm Street director/ horror icon Wes Craven on the first two films in the franchise. Critics complained that the kills weren't creative enough for a post-Saw world and that the meta humour was dated.

But upon a re-watch and with Scream 5 on the horizon, this underrated sequel is overdue a reconsideration.

The returning cast are a delight as always, whilst new arrivals like Rory Kulkin and Hayden Panettiere are charming additions to the line up.

This thus-far final instalment in the series was just as gruesome, clever, and funny as its predecessors, with a razor sharp script and some truly inventive, tense chase sequences.

The bloody house party finale and an early, intense multi level car park chase stand out, but there isn't a weak link in the tightly plotted film.

Well, there's one. But once a certain character's unclear fate is cleared up by having them return in the upcoming fifth film, then there truly won't be a weak link in this film.
