10 Horror Movies That Gave Fans EXACTLY What They Wanted (And They Hated It)

4. All Of Those Years Demanding A Lost Boys Sequel...

The Lost Boys The Tribe Edgar Frog
Warner Premiere

Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys is a major favourite of so many horror fans and film fans, period. Vampires, hair metal fashion, insta-quotable dialogue, an utterly bangin' soundtrack, and some phenomenal performances, this 1987 offering remains quite the masterpiece to this very day.

With divorcee Lucy Emerson moving back to her hometown with sons Michael and Sam in tow - plus, of course, loveable, protective pooch Nanook - it soon becomes apparent that bloodsuckers loom large in Santa Clara, California. As Michael becomes a vampire and Sam seeks the help of local vamp-hunting siblings Edgar and Allan Frog, this tale unravels magnificently.

Ever since that first movie's release, fans clamoured for a return to this vampiric corner of Cali to see how the story of the Emersons and the Frogs played out. It may have taken longer than we'd have all hoped, but finally 2008 served up Lost Boys: The Tribe.

Sure, this P.J. Pesce-helmed sequel did indeed return to California, had Corey Feldman back in the saddle as Edgar Frog, and provided loose updates on some of its predecessors key characters, but The Tribe was a mere shell of Schumacher's picture.

While there were some nice Easter eggs on display, Lost Boys: The Tribe was too little, too late. Even then, some blindly hoped that threequel Lost Boys: The Thirst would redeem the franchise in 2010. Sadly, this was again a dud that, quite frankly, didn't do enough to justify its existence.
