10 Horror Movies That Have Never Officially Been Released
1. All American Massacre
The late Tobe Hooper is widely regarded as one of horror's great directors. The twisted brains behind both The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergeist, Hooper has been cited as an influence by the likes of Wes Craven, Hideo Nakata, and Ridley Scott.
Tobe's passing in 2017 was a huge loss and many tributes were paid to his life and legacy. However, one of the strangest homages to his work had been made 17 years prior to his death by his own son.
Set after the events of the second Texas Chainsaw Massacire movie, Tony Hooper's All American Massacre brought back actor Bill Moseley to reprise his role as Chop Top. The film would have seen the Vietnam vet escape from a psychiatric ward to go on a rampage of his own. It's unclear whether or not any chainsaws would be involved.
Apparently the film was finished and was set for a theatrical release. So, why didn't it get one? Well, nobody actually knows.
Rights reasons, financial problems, fears that it isn't very good. These have all been touted, but the fact that this picture is just out there somewhere ready to be seen is one of the horror genre's greatest mysteries.
