10 Horror Movies That Instantly Told You They Were Garbage

1. Cabin Fever

Halloween Resurrection
IFC Midnight

Eli Roths fans relax, we're talking about the utterly pointless 2016 remake, not the lovably daft '02 original.

Remember that opening scene with the hermit and blood-spouting dog you might've been gripped by? How about a carbon copy of it with different actors?

Why exactly an almost shot-for-shot remake of Cabin Fever a mere 14 years after its initial release, and just two years after the last direct sequel, was made is anyone's guess. A cynic might suggest to make a quick buck but one look at its box office revenue confirms that didn't pan out.

The opening scene just lets you know that you're in for a less fun but otherwise mostly identical film that'll really just leave you wishing you'd watched the old cult favourite again. It's sort of like the film equivalent of Stewie's 'B***h Stewie' creation in Family Guy; a processed, mostly similar but oddly inferior clone of the original.

The '16 Cabin Fever is in amongst some truly dismal company as one of those rare films to score a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Unfortunately for critics, giving up after the opener's not an option if they want that paycheque at the end of the month. Viewers, however, can heed the warning and give this one a miss.
