10 Horror Movies That Weirdly Made Characters Look Like Idiots

1. Tommy Jarvis - Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

I Know What You Did Last Summer
Paramount

Now, Friday the 13th's Tommy Jarvis (Thom Mathews) is probably more sympathetic than most characters on this list, given that he's evidently traumatised from his interactions with Jason Voorhees as a young boy.

As an adult, Tommy is continually wracked with terrifying hallucinations of Jason (C.J. Graham) despite killing him in the fourth movie, and so Tommy decides to dig up Jason's body and destroy it in an attempt to prevail over his deep-seated trauma.

But this ends up being one of the worst decisions in any horror movie, like, ever, as after Tommy exhumes Jason and angrily impales him with a fence post, it's struck by lightning, miraculously bringing Jason back to life.

Even if you accept that Tommy could've never foreseen Jason being resurrected quite like this, given his prior experiences with the killer, it was probably better to just leave him alone, no?

Instead Jason returned to kill and kill and kill again in the sequels that followed, the victims' blood effectively being on Tommy's hands. Not to downplay Tommy's trauma, but there had to be a smarter way to deal with this.
