10 Horror Movies That Will Make You Say "WTF Did I Just Watch?"

6. Skinamarink

Climax 2018
Shudder

The most recent entry on this list and arguably the strangest one of all, Skinamarink has been dividing horror fans since its release in 2022 with some claiming it to be the scariest film in decades, whereas others believe it to be the cure for insomnia.

For my money, it's one of the most highly effective horror films of recent years, managing to evoke a very real sense of impending doom through its use of analogue horror and abstract presentation. The film follows a pair of young children who wake in the middle of the night to discover their parents are missing and all the doors and windows in the house start to vanish. All the while a malevolent force within the walls begins to exert its influence over the children, leading to some highly disturbing scenes that many will find upsetting.

It's highly experimental nature will no doubt be a turn-off for many people but if you can get aboard its singular wavelength you'll find it to be a truly chilling experience. For those that can't however, it'll remain one of the most baffling - and perhaps boring - things they've ever seen.
