6. Rick's Eyeball Pops Out - Friday The 13th Part III

The Friday the 13th movies get a fair degree of leeway here because they were all made relatively cheaply, though given that the third entry into the series was given quadruple the budget of the original film, it should've boasted effortlessly superior gore effects, right?

Sadly not. One of the film's most memorable death scenes sees poor Rick (Paul Kratka) have his head crushed so hard by Jason (Richard Brooker) that one of his eyeballs pops out.

And because the threequel was made for a 3D presentation, of course Rick's eye flies out towards the audience.

It's a neat idea, but the execution is way off, because in addition to the extremely visible wire that the eyeball is travelling across, Rick's prop head looks nothing like an actual human being.

It isn't great in motion, but when pored over as a still, it's legitimately laughable.
