10 Horror Reboots That Need To Be Green Lit

10. Dracula

We're starting with Dracula because, given the recent Vampire craze (which is, thank God, subsiding), I'm surprised there hasn't been a lot of talk about rebooting this. Dracula is incredibly important to the Vampire mythos, he's its most important character. The original Universal film is unique and hauntingly eerie, mostly because of Bela Lugosi's charmingly seductive character. Dracula makes girls want to drop their panties. But not in an Edward, the sun makes me sparkle, Twilight sort of way, more in a James Bond suave way, except that the suaveness and seduction ends in death and/or you being turned into a vampire. When dealing with a charming creature such as Dracula, it's easy to get swept up in his spell. Dracula can become very real, and as a result, very, very scary. There's so much to play with as far as the love story goes, or maybe dig deeper into his history, explore Vlad the Impaler, Dracula Begins essentially. We've seen the basic story done to death, so let's see some of what makes him who he is. Considering Vlad the Impaler was a real guy who put the heads of his enemies on pikes, that's pretty gruesome. Why not build the fear around him? Maybe I'm alone when I say this but whatever helps get Coppola's version out of my head can only be good for this character. I don't need to have any more horrific recollections of Werewolf Gary Oldman jerking it.
