10 Horror Remakes You Had No Idea Were In The Works
6. Pumpkinhead
Pumpkinhead might sound like B-movie garbage that's only useful for lining bargain bins at Blockbuster Video in decades gone by, but it's more than that.
The Lance Henriksen-fronted horror marked the directorial debut of practical effects pioneer Stan Winston and dealt with surprisingly weighty issues.
Henriksen plays a grieving father who summons a monster to enact revenge on a gang of teenagers who killed his son in an accident.
So far, so trashy, but Pumpkinhead goes on to analyse the ethicality of vengeance as Henriksen's farmer realises the revenge he seeks doesn't quite fit the crime.
There are big names behind the Pumpkinhead remake, like Saw producer Peter Block. All it needs now is a director... and a cast, crew, release date, and all that jazz.
