10 Horror Short Films Hollywood Should Adapt To Full Length

5. The Maiden

This film is both supernaturally scary... and hilarious. Intentionally hilarious, in this case, rather than the unintentional cringe-worthy hilarity of failed horror in other films.

Directed by Michael Chaves, this short film follows a real estate agent who, despite being victimised by the haunting of an old house by the angry ghost of an old woman, is still absolutely determined to sell the place, not letting ghostly murder attempts and signs of dark ritual activity stop her from getting it cleaned up and presentable for a rich client.

The creepy atmosphere of the large and empty house and jump scares that are built up from ramping tension, paired with the hilarity of a determined woman who just has no time to care about either, would make for a fantastic full-length feature, perhaps fleshing out the character of a no-nonsense businesswoman who, even presented with obvious and active supernatural elements, will stop at nothing to do her job.

It's a horror film that, despite being scary, doesn't forget to have fun, and though no news has sprung up since announcing that it was in talks with Paramount Pictures for a full length feature, it's still deserving of the full-length Hollywood treatment.
