3. Secret Wars
Secret Wars is the name applied to three different crossovers from Marvel Comics history, become a bankable brand over the years, one that could feed in to the MCU once Infinity War is done and dusted. Heroes fighting heroes is always good fun, and thats exactly what youll find in any Secret Wars storyline. The original 1984 Secret Wars was quite basic, narrative-wise. It centred on a cosmic entity called The Beyonder who teleported characters to a distant plane called Battleworld against their will and forced them to fight. In 1985, Marvel followed on from this story by showing The Beyonder attempting to live on Earth. The 2015 Secret Wars crossover is more likely to inspire the MCU, though. Therein, all the parallel universes of Marvel were mashed together. The universe was falling in on itself, but Doctor Doom managed to piece the remnants together and installed himself as the god of this new society. Battles were fought relentlessly on this hodgepodge world, with Black Panther (wielding the Infinity Gauntlet) and Mister Fantastic eventually fighting Doctor Doom in the final issue. The Secret Wars universe was destroyed and the main Marvel universe was rebooted, leading to Marvels current All New, All Different range. In Phase 4 of the MCU, Marvel Studios could use events similar to these to reinvigorate their sprawling mega-franchise and make up for all the departing actors. Theyd need to replace Doctor Doom and Mister Fantastic, though, unless Fox want to share the Fantastic Four rights.
