10 Huge Marvel Characters That Could Make Their MCU Debut In 2022

There is a fair amount of intrigue surrounding The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Very little is known about it so far, and the MCU has never done anything like it before, leaving fans wondering exactly what to expect.

James Gunn has however, let fans know that firstly, they will need to watch this in order to properly follow Guardians Vol. 3, and that there will be a fantastic new character introduced to the franchise. Naturally, this has inspired all kinds of theories as to who the mysterious character could be, but knowing James Gunn, it will be someone incredibly bizarre and obscure.

In terms of Marvel Comics, there is arguably no character as weird or obscure as Santa Claus. This is a Holiday special after all, and jolly old Saint Nick does exist in the pages of the source material, so why not transfer that into the MCU?

Could this be going a little too weird? Potentially. However, we would have said the same thing about a sentient tree and a talking raccoon years ago, so why not? Santa is an incredibly powerful mutant in the comics, and would make for an interesting addition to the project at the very least.
