10 Huge Problems You Consciously Ignore Because The Film Is So Good

4. Harry Potter Series - Bad Acting

Since Marvel has hit its stride, the Harry Potter film franchise has been relegated to number two spot on the list of highest-grossing film franchises. It remains enormously popular however, and it's not hard to see why. JK Rowling convincingly rendered an entirely imaginary universe, happening right under our noses, and populated it with wizards, trolls and dragons. It's no wonder children were enchanted. The subject matter was so rich, the films could hardly go wrong, and they boast some of the most impressive ensemble casts you're ever likely to see, crammed with British acting royalty. That said, some of the child acting, particularly in the early films, is less than stellar. Younger viewers, technically the films' target audience barely notice that sort of thing, but for the adult fans it can take a concerted effort to get through the early films in the franchise without wondering why you're watching a ten year old fail at acting. Thankfully this was mostly cleared up by the last few sequels, and Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson turned into pretty decent actors. Maybe not Rupert Grint though.
