10 Huge Star Wars Moments That Happened In The Background

8. IG-88 Gets Scrapped - Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

One of the many things that the main canon Star Wars movies offered just a slight glimpse at was the shady world of bounty hunting.

Outside of the Fetts, the lives of the galaxy's lone rangers weren't really picked up on. It would fall to the expanded universe to tell those tales, and tell them they have.

As for the films, the most bounty hunters seen in one place are the group assembled by Darth Vader aboard his Super Star Destroyer in The Empire Strikes Back. Boba Fett is there, as is fan favourite Bossk and a tall, slender robot is also standing next to the fabled Mandalorian.

This is IG-88, one of many murderous IG units created with the sole purpose of killing. This one meets a sticky end however, as its broken body can be seen in the junkyards of Cloud City later in the movie.
