Here's a villain so terrifying he made a huge impact on audiences despite only having about five minutes of screen time. In the fantasy/horror film Pan's Labyrinth, there's a scene where Ofelia winds up in the lair of this terrifying thing referred to as the Pale Man, sitting perfectly still at the end of a table full of food. Ofelia is told not to touch the banquet, but when she gives in and eats two grapes, the Pale Man slowly comes alive. His eyes lie on a platter in front of him and so in order to see, he sticks them inside his palms and holds them up to his head. The Pale Man has long claws and gross elastic skin, and after she eats the grape, it immediately gets up in pursuit of Ofelia while emitting a loud screech. That's all you really see it doing, but paintings in the lair show the Pale Man eating children, and a bunch of kids' clothing is seen at one point. It's such a horrifying and well designed looking creature, with a suit that took the actor five hours to get into every day. This is easily the image most people still remember about the movie, and for good reason
