10 Iconic Movie Heroes Who Saved The Day By Complete Accident

9. Ash - Army Of Darkness

army_of_darkness_1 Ok, Ash technically saves the day here but he's the reason the day needed saving in the first place. After battling the Evil Dead at the cabin, he is sucked into a vortex and ends up in 1300 AD, as a prisoner of Lord Henry. He is suspected of being an agent of the Lord's rival, Duke Henry and is sentenced to die. Ash of course prevails and is deemed to be the hero of prophecy. He only wants to return to his time and is given a task to retrieve the Necronomicon, The Book Of The Dead. Ash accepts and sets off on his journey. He is chased by an unseen force and hides out in a windmill where he becomes tormented by tiny versions of himself. Eventually, one of them works their way inside of Ash, creating a doppelgänger. Ash kills his doppelgänger and reaches the Necronomicon. He forgets the third of the three words he has to say as he retrieves the book (klaatu, verata, nicto. Dammit Ash!) and unleashes the Deadite army on everyone, including his dead doppelgänger. Ash races back to get back home before the Deadite army arrives but the woman he's taking a liking to is captured. It's hero time! Ash helps the people overcome the Deadites and finally makes his way back home but again, DAMMIT ASH! if you only paid more attention when other people were talking you could save us all some heartache.

I'm married and live in New York with my wife and pets. I'm a writer and definitely not a comedian (just ask my wife). I've successfully linked my twitter, goodreads, facebook and google+ pages although the successful aspect of all that is up for debate. I also started my own blog on wordpress and have just finished my first novel, The Violent Winds. Now it's time to try and trick some unsuspecting fool into buying it.
