10 Iconic Spider-Man Comics Moments We're Still Waiting To See On Screen

6. Spider-Man Reveals His Identity To Black Cat

Marc Webb€™s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 introduced the character Felicia Hardy as an employee/assistant at Oscorp. But ardent readers of the comics should note that Hardy€™s alter ego is the sometimes criminal/sometimes hero Black Cat. A few years after the character is first introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #194, Black Cat and Spider-Man became involved romantically with one unique condition: Black Cat had no interest in seeing Peter Parker, the man under the mask, and only wanted to €œdate€ Spider-Man. Peter, being the hopeless romantic and naïve optimist that he can sometimes be, decides in Spectacular Spider-Man #87 that he€™s going to reveal his secret identity to Black Cat anyway. But when he pulls off the mask, Cat demands that he put it back on, reaffirming her original position that she€™s not in this relationship to be with Peter, but rather Spider-Man. This traumatic moment is the beginning of the end for Spider-Man/Black Cat though, the final nail in the coffin for the romance is when Spidey discovers that, behind his back, Felicia received super powers from one of his mortal enemies, the Kingpin. Despite Spidey€™s heartbreak, from a cinematic standpoint, a Spider-Man/Black Cat storyline in a future movie would be an inspired and unexpected choice, as most critics and fans seem to be banking on Mary Jane Watson being the next €œlove interest.€ Plus Black Cat is an interesting enough character on her own that she would be a ripe candidate to build a movie spinoff around.
