10 Most Important Star Wars Characters Not In The Movies

1. Darth Bane

Darth Bane Although this article has featured some characters who have been more evil, and those who engaged in more conflicts, there has not been a single character that changed the dynamics and rules of the Galaxy more than Dessel, better known as Darth Bane. Bane€™s biggest contribution to the Star Wars Universe was one that completely changed the relationship between Jedi and Sith: the Rule of Two. Under this new doctrine, there were only two Sith in the entire Galaxy: one Master and one Apprentice. Before that, there were numerous Sith in the Galaxy, similarly to how many Jedi inhabited the Galaxy. This new dynamic completely changed how Jedi and Sith interacted with one another in the Galaxy. Sith numbers dwindled, allowing the Sith to presume themselves to be extinct, allowing for a more deceitful, devious approach to eliminating the Jedi, and prophetically bringing balance to the Force. Despite the clear disadvantage over the Jedi, the Sith still managed to deceitfully manipulate events in the Galaxy for their benefit. With their numbers being only two, the Jedi over time began to assume the Sith to be extinct, and the Council was reluctant to believe that they had returned in Episode I. Because of this Rule of Two, Darth Bane changed the Star Wars Galaxy forever.
