10 Incredible Monsters In 10 Not-So Incredible Movies

3. Fiend Without A Face (1958)

FiendwithoutaFaceuse1 Arthur Crabtree's Fiend Without a Face is a masterpiece in monster design. Like The Brain from Arous, the despicable thing in this feature is a floating brain 'mental vampire' with antenna and a spinal column for a tail and once again, stars Marshall Thompson. Conveniently invisible for the majority of the film, the fiends in Fiend Without a Face entrench themselves on an American Military base in Manitoba, Ontario. Created by a Professor dabbling in telekinesis, the invisible monsters suck the brain and spine out of it's victims that allow them to quickly multiply. When they've sucked enough brains they become visible and feed off the nearby nuclear plant for even more energy. The creatures themselves are a beauty to behold only to be aided by the repulsive sounds they make. Even more repulsive is the sound that is made when they are shot at with firearms, something akin to a bowel movement after a Taco Bell buffet.

Nelson has been in love with film ever since he saw Lawrence of Arabia as a child. He has an obscenely large DVD collection that is slowly taking over his home and will argue with you that The Third Man is quite possibly the greatest film ever made.
