10 Inescapable Plot Holes In Avengers: Endgame
4. How Did Thanos Time Travel From 2014?
Ironically, had Captain Marvel got the Infinity Gauntlet to the prototype quantum tunnel, Thanos might have been the only one there who had any idea how to use it, given his apparent instinctive ability to travel through the quantum realm.
Because how did he get the Sanctuary II from a branched timeline in 2014 (split off from the main timeline when Nebula changed events by getting captured and inadvertently showing Thanos the future)?
Yes, his Nebula disguised herself as our Nebula, travelled forward again with everyone else and then jacked into and activated the quantum tunnel to bring them through: but she didn’t have any more Pym particles to give them. Even if Thanos’ brief glimpse of the future was enough to show him exactly how this version of time travel worked, he was missing the fuel that would power the trip.
In a recent interview, the Russo brothers tried to handwave this away by claiming that Thanos was a ‘brilliant genius’ and, with Ebony Maw’s help, could reverse engineer Pym particles from the sample Nebula provided.
This, of course, is a fudge.
Thanos is described as many things, but a science geek is not one of them. To suggest that he could recreate heavily refined extra-dimensional particles and expand their application to a spacecraft the size of a city, including all the thousands of occupants, is ludicrous.
