10 Infamous Movie Moments That Prove You Should Avoid Marriage

3. The War Of The Roses - Barbara And Oliver Crash Onto The Ground, Barbara Uses Last Ounce Of Strength To Push Oliver's Hand Away

War Of The Roses Barbara Rose (Kathleen Turner) and Oliver Rose (Michael Douglas) are an affluent couple that have been married for almost 20 years. They mutually decide, though, that the marriage has run its course and they both want out. But, they both want their badass house and thus begins The War of the Roses where they pretty much try to kill each other to be the last person standing much to the shock and horror of their children. In a crucial moment, Barbara and Oliver are sitting on a chandelier (long story how they ended up there) talking about their marriage. The chandelier, unable to hold the couples' weight, smashes to the floor. Oliver, who admits he always loved Barbara uses his last ounce of strength to touch Barbara to show one last moment of love. Barbara, on the other hand, vehemently rejects this and uses her last bit of energy to push the hand away. Only marriage can create this much hate that your last move is to push your partner away.
