Not the most vicious of spats by any means, but certainly one of the more surprising. It seems unusual to consider Jim Carrey - a comedy film virtuoso - in the context of a petty feud, but his appearance in Kick-Ass 2 as Colonel Stars & Stripes ended up causing a bit of verbal handbags between him and director Jeff Wadlow. Upon the film's release, Carrey suddenly denounced the movie, citing that he could not continue to endorse or promote a movie with level of violence of Kick-Ass 2 due to current topical issues within America. The events that Carrey was referring to were the Sandy Hook Elementary school shootings that occurred late in 2012, and the actor continued to increasingly distance himself from Wadlow's movie as it gathered theatrical momentum.Wadlow claimed that he was "shocked" by Carrey's comments, and admitted that Carrey was utterly "unpredictable" as an individual. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60QRPNXpWYQ It remains unclear whether the two have truly reconciled and agreed to work together again, despite Wadlow admitting to having enjoyed and appreciated Carrey's overall performance in Kick-Ass 2.
