10 Infamous Sci-Fi Movie Disasters That Cost Obscene Money

5. Gemini Man

Gemini Man had been languishing in development hell for so long that it was originally pitched with Clint Eastwood pulling double-duty in a blockbuster sci-fi action movie, and he turned 90 years old last week.

Ang Lee and Will Smith seemed like a solid combination to finally bring the project to the big screen, but their $138m collaboration was greeted with little more than an apathetic shrug, and ended up becoming one of the biggest box office bombs of last year.

It would have been a lot cheaper and a whole lot more convincing to have Will Smith just shave off his goatee to play a younger version of himself, because 'Junior' fell into video game cutscene territory anytime he was required to do anything other than remain completely still.

It didn't help that Lee seemed more interested in playing with the shiny new technology than he was with crafting an exciting or even halfway decent story, and it boggles the mind how this is the best version of Gemini Man they could come up with after more than two decades of trying to get it made.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
