10 Ingenious Uses Of End Credits Songs In Movies

3. Baby, You’re A Rich Man – The Social Network

The Social Network is easily one of the best biopics ever made and, perhaps, the greatest film of the 21st century. On paper a film about the creation of Facebook sounds incredibly dry and incredibly shallow but, thanks to Aaron Sorkin's stellar script and David Fincher's expert direction, it has since been regarded as a masterpiece.

In many ways the last image we see of Mark Zuckerberg, sat alone constantly refreshing his love interest's Facebook page, perfectly summarises the entrepreneur: persistent yet truly alone. As the camera zooms in on this final sight we are treated to the obligatory biopic titles, 'Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in the world' etc., and we gradually hear the introduction to the lesser known Beatles song.

While not exactly a subtle choice to end The Social Network with a shot of billionaire Mark Zuckerberg to the tune Baby, You're A Rich Man, Fincher manages to get away with it. Looking at the lyrics to the Beatles song they perfectly describe the Facebook founder, making the fairly on the nose decision to use the song during the end credits forgivable. 'How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people, now that you know who you are?' Very fitting.
