Godzilla vs. Ghost Godzilla was supposed to be the follow-up to Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, but was scrapped because the studio thought having three Godzilla movies in a row where Big G fought monsters that were aesthetically similar to himself would be just too much (More on the third in that trio in a later entry).

It’s hard to believe the words “Just too much” ever came into play when it comes to Godzilla movies. I am incredibly sad and bitter that this movie never got made, because I would love to see the movie try to make sense of having a very-much-alive Godzilla fighting his own ghost.
