10 Insane Movie Stunts You Won't Believe Tom Cruise Performed
7. Motorcycle Chase - Knight And Day (2010)
Although this sequence features a heavier use of stunt doubles than the average Tom Cruise action scene, there are still plenty of impressive moments for which the diminutive star was responsible. The most obvious is the 'switcheroo' that was so heavily featured in the marketing for the movie, where Cruise flips Diaz around on a moving motorcycle. The actor came up with the idea and pitched it to director James Mangold, and while it was performed on a camera rig it is still a highly dangerous stunt that looks great onscreen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJkvTnFW1RU The second notable stunt is when the motorcycle finds itself in the midst of a herd of rampaging bulls. You'd think that a $150m blockbuster would just use CGI for the animals, and while the numbers were bulked up during post-production Cruise did actually ride a motorcycle at high speed through a crowd of bulls with Cameron Diaz on board. There must have been some amount of trust between the two co-stars for her to agree to that.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
