10 Insane Reasons Movies Were Forced To Change Their Titles

2. 'The Pirates' Loses 'In An Adventure...With Scientists' So Evolution-Fearing Americans Still See It

The Pirates Though by no means a wide release anywhere it came out, Aardman's latest Plasticine adventure, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, was a riotously good time. However, in the US and Canada, the film was released with a far more generic, forgettable title - The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Why on Earth would they need to omit the word "scientists" from the title, you ask? Well, over-sensitive, reactionary studio-heads decided that they didn't want to risk alienating or offending anyone who might disagree with Darwinism or, more to the point, science, and sought to white-wash the lab coat-wearing folks from the piece altogether. Much like the insanity of the Captain America debacle, though, the reality will soon make itself apparent to those Darwin-hating few who decide to watch the film, surely resulting in them walking out and asking for their money back anyway?
