Twilight is just as famous for its devoted fanbase as it is for its movies and books, and no better is this devotion illustrated than by observing an unusual trend that surfaced when the film series was at the height of its popularity.

Obsessed with the movie series - and inspired by Robert Pattinson's look as Edward Cullen - several fans took a leaf out of the actor's book and decided to get some fangs of their own.

In one case, Twilight superfan Taylor Wilkins had a tooth-coloured resin applied to his canines, which was then moulded into pointy fangs. This was after visiting a dentist and paying around $200 for the procedure (which translates to £152 today).

A devout supporter of R-Patz and Team Edward, Wilkins just wanted to look like his idol. Fortunately, these fangs could easily be removed and didn't damage the original teeth. Must be useful for tearing up steak dinners, too.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
