10 Insanely Dark Batman Moments That'll Never Make It To Film
8. Hanging A Foe From The Batplane
Batman didn't always live by his no-kill ethos, as illustrated beautifully when he hung a foe from the neck in 1940's Batman Vol. 1.
The Golden Age anthology featured a Hugo Strange story in which the evil doctor has developed a serum which turns people in "man-monsters".
Batman proved no match for said man-monsters in close combat, so his solution involved killing one of them by hanging. Literally attaching a steel cable to the former human's neck and suspending him from the Batplane until his life drained away.
So there's Bats flying over Gotham with a murdered corpse dangling from his aircraft. Enjoy, kids!
Golden Age Batman was different breed of superhero who didn't think twice about taking a gun into battle, but it's safe to say we'll never see the Caped Crusader deliver capital punishement via hanging in the movies.
