6. Norman Osborn Had Sex With Gwen Stacy

How do you single-handedly ruin one of the most important characters in Peter Parker’s life? Simply take a look at Sins Past for your answer.

Regardless of being long-time deceased, Gwen Stacy has always been one of the most pivotal players in the world of the Wallcrawler. Well, that was until 2004.

What happened with Sins Past is that it was revealed that Norman Osborn had actually had sex with Gwen and knocked her up with twins. Yes, that’s the same Norman Osborn who, as the Green Goblin, was responsible for the death of Gwen and who also barely even shared a comic book panel with Parker’s first love.

As was explained, Norman whisked Gwen off to France so that she could give birth. Filled with guilt, Gwen decided to come clean and tell Peter, and as such the Goblin decided to killed her. Due to Norman’s infected blood, the children aged quickly and were fully-formed adults by the time they were 10. Of course, Osborn being Osborn then set out to use the kids to battle Spider-Man.

And yes, this was all as awkward and as bad as you’d imagine as the memory of Gwen (not to mention the impact of her death) was hugely tarnished.
