10 Intense Horror Movie Scenes You Couldn't Watch
9. Bone Tomahawk: The Human Wishbone
Unlike the Human Centipede, Bone Tomahawk is a damn good movie. The 2015 Western-horror manages to pull off the ever-tricky genre crossover whilst maintaining an engaging, cohesive narrative.
The majority of this movie plays out like your classic Western rescue story: a young girl gets carried off by Native Americans, and a group of heroes must assemble to rescue her. In a nut shell that's the premise of the movie - but sub out the Native Americans for a group of flesh eating troglodytes and you've got yourself a horror flick.
Kurt Russell plays a small town sheriff who leads the rag-tag bunch of heroes on their mission. His posse includes a dim-witted but loyal sidekick (Matthew Jenkins), a sharp-dressed 'Indian' hunter (Matthew Fox), and a stubborn but brave husband (Patrick Wilson).
The posse ultimately gets waylaid by the troglodytes and are forced to watch while one of the previously captured townsfolk is dismembered. Firstly, he gets the classic scalping treatment and has his bloody locks shoved into his mouth. If that wasn't enough the poor sucker is turned upside down, hacked in the groin with with a bone tomahawk, and pulled apart like a human rag doll. Ouch.
